Intrinsic-ID's Quiddikey™ based solution for Control Word Protection in fielded conditional access systems consisting of:
- A software Quiddikey Library
- A software Quiddicard Library
Functionality:
Intrinsic-ID’s solution for Control Word Protection allows to establish a secure channel between a set-top box (STB) and the smart-card module even for already fielded systems (STB and Smart-Card). This can for instance be achieved by an over-the-air (OTA) download.
Advantages:
- Security upgrade in the field: Implementation of a high protection level against stealing of control words without change to the hardware
- Low Implementation cost
- PUF based key storage at in the STB
Applications:
- Protection of control words
- Generation of new keys in fielded devices such as smart-cards, STBs, DSPs, microprocessors,…
